#12beers of Beercember Fuller’s ESB Review
Hey gang, Keith here, and I am participating Nathaniel Square’s 12 Beers of Christmas. Nathanial Square Corner Store of Rochester, NY, put together a limited number of mixed 12 packs, and we/I will be reviewing one beer a day until Christmas.
Now there is no order of beers for the event but I will try and see what everyone is drinking that night on twitter and do the same here. If you want to follow along with us on twitter the hash tag is #12beers.
Tonight’s brew as chosen by Twitter user and friend @tryfailtry is Fuller’s ESB.
This is an Extra Special/Stong Bitter from England, Running about 5.9% ABV. It pours a lovely amber/brown color, with a thin head. The bitterness is forward but not overpowering. There are also notes of caramel and perhaps of touch of citrus. It’s very easy to drink, with fair carbonation. The bitterness does linger a bit in aftertaste, which I am not a fan of, but over all this is a very good beer.
Using the happy time magic hour scale I would rate this beer a solid 4 out of 5. It’s a really good example of a classic British bitter, which is not easy to find here in the good ole USA.
Man if all the beers in the #12beers event are this should be a lot of fun.
