#12beers of Christmas number 3…

Custom Brewcrafters Double Dark Cream Porter

This is a Rochester area local brew so I apologize to my national and international readers who won’t be able to grab this one and try it. Today you are missing out.

I have been told that the difference between a porter and a stout is how the brewmaster felt the day he was naming the beer, and this one surely defies me not to name it a milk stout.

It’s a dry porter with a well balanced cream sweetness that lingers on the pallet just long enough to make you want to take another pull. There is a hint of coffee and dark chocolate but not overpoweringly so like some super rich porters or stouts.

5% ABV seems right on here, it’s light enough to be very drinkable, but not so much so that you forget it’s a beer.

Really really good… 5/5
