TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES: Please Stand By
Just a quick not to let you know that I had about an hour or so of panic this evening.
I got home from work today and found that my Mac Book Pro would not boot. it tried and then it rebooted, then it tried again and then it rebooted and so on and so forth. You know that sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach? Yeah I had that.
After a few moments of controlled panic I realized I had a spare drive ready to go from about six months ago when I updated the hard drive from the 100gb drive to a 320gb drive. So I went through the painfully tedious process of taking my MBP apart to replace the drive. After putting the old drive back in low and behold the system booted. sigh of relief
Now many of you know I am an avid photographer but fear not my Aperture library is kept on an external drive, and backed up to a second drive so it is still up to date.
But this podcast, specifically the latest one that had been recorded last night, was not backed up.
But fear not, the other drive it’s on should be readable, I’m 99% certain it is. I just don’t have a method of connecting the sata drive to my computer to get the files off of it.
Now in a crazy coincidence, or perhaps dumb luck, I actually ordered an internal SATA hard drive to USB adapter from Amazon for work this morning. It should be here in a few days, as soon as it gets here I’ll be able to edit the show and post it. I should have our show up for the weekend.
If the worst happens and the drive is trashed, I’ll put a “rerun” in the feed and we’ll push onward with the show next week. But that’s not going to happen. :)
