mini review: brooklyn’s local 2
A birthday gift from my buddy Eric at the now famous Bacon Explosion Birthday BBQ.  This is another excellent brew from the Brooklyn Brewery.
This medium to dark ale, high (9% ABV) has a spicy citrus herbal flavor that finishes with a taste of sweet honey.  Highly drinkable and smooth, despite the intimidating dark color and high ABV this would be enjoyable any time, even on a hot day.
The only problem we had with this brew, was when carefully pouring it into frosty mugs we found it produced a crazy thick and high head.   I’m not sure if this was normal or a function of the temperature difference between the beer and the mugs.  Both Eric and I found it produced a head of 4” or more.
I’d give this an unofficial rating of 4/5, and perhaps if Rob gets up here this summer we can sneak one of these in his bag to do an official review of later.
Brooklyn is starting to rival Ommegang as my favorite New York State craft brewer.  I need to sample a few more from each of them to come up with a definitive answer though.   It’s a task I am willing to take on, for you.  ;-)
